Mentoring – Relationships for lifelong learning.mov
This is a video I produced, directed and edited for The Smith Family to provide an insight into The Smith Familys mentoring programs. Since 1995, The Smith Family have been supporting disadvantaged students by linking them with volunteer mentors to help them make a smooth transition from school to work or further education. Mentoring helps young people gain a clearer idea of their abilities and interests, the opportunities available and the pathways needed to take advantage of these. Research shows that mentoring is one of the most effective ways of sharing knowledge within communities and providing a ‘significant other’ for those who are lacking positive role models
